Purple Flower Cupcakes

I think my new favourite colour is purple!! My friend had asked for cupcakes with purple flowers for a bridal shower. She basically left the designing to me and this is what I came up with.  I really enjoyed making all the little flowers and then dusting them, its very therapeutic ;) I hope to make something similar again!

Thomas The Train cupcakes

Hi Everyone
These cupcakes were made for Antonio's 3rd birthday. These were ordered by a very special friend Mary who wanted to surprise her nephew!! She is such a sweet and loving aunty!! Mary, you are amazing and I loved making these for your little man!!

Owl Theme cupcakes

These cupcakes were made for a very special little girl named Inaya "whoo" turned one. Her mom and dad celebrated Inaya's Owl theme party on May 14 with close friends and family. The little angel was outfitted in a cute little tulle tutu and a t-shirt with a pink and white number 1 appliqued at the front . Take a look how cute she is!!! The colour theme was pink and green, which I think is perfect for any little girl!!! Selina basically gave me the go ahead to create whatever I felt like and I'm happy to say I really liked how they turned out!

Inaya with her mommy and daddy!! 

I noticed that when Selina had posted the photos on facebook, some of the flowers on the cupcakes melted. I have no idea that gum paste would melt, especially when I had dried them out. Not sure if anyone else experienced this before. However I spoke to Selina and she said that they had been sitting out for a while but hadn't been able to take photos until the last minute. I'm glad to hear that because when I first saw them I was so upset that they had melted. Anyhow, I learned a valuable lesson, I don't put on the toppers until a couple of hours before pickup. I remember that the cupcakes were in the fridge the night before pickup and I had the flowers on at that time!!! So now I know going forward, won't make that mistake again : )
