Happy Birthday Sonja!!

A friend from work is celebrating her birthday today!!! She's was quite surprised when she walked in this morning to find her area decorated with streamers and balloons!
She was even more surprised when the team walked over to her desk singing "Happy Birthday" and bearing gifts!! I think we left her speechless :)
Sonja, here is to another wonderful year and wishing you an amazing Birthday. Hope you had an awesome time with your sister at the spa!
hugs

Here are the cupcakes that I baked for her :)

Cake/Cookie Balls

I know, not the most enticing names for these cute little "yummyness", but I happen to love them!!!!
Ok, seriously these are the easiest and cutest looking "wanna-be-truffles" that can be done in 30mints.
The history of cake balls that I know of originally came from Bakerella. In my opinion this lady is the Queen of Cake Pops. So for the cake pops I'm not even going to attempt to tell you how to make these, all you have to do is go to her website and drool!!! All her recipes and ideas are on her site. I bet a whole lot of you will be making cake pops by the weekend :)
So here is my creation of cake pops! I actually made these for 2 clients who wanted to taste test these :)

For the cookie balls.... You'll need the following:
Oreo Cookies (550g bag)
1 package of 8oz Cream cheese
Chocolate melts or bark ( for the purpose of dipping )
.....use food processor to crush the cookies, add room temp. cream cheese, make round balls and place them on a tray and straight into the refrigerator. Leave it for about 15-30mints and then start dipping!! see how easy!

For the Peanut Butter cookie balls
Pirate Cookies  (350g bag) + another 2 rows
1 package of 8oz Cream cheese
Chocolate melts or bark ( for dipping )
....same instructions as the Oreo cookies :)

Mario Bros Cupcakes

Happy 17th Birthday Jonathan!!

Last week Jonathan celebrated his 17th birthday, his mom said that he played video games and I asked if Super Mario was one of them! I had so much fun making the toppers that I made extras!! I think I might start making toppers and start selling them. What do you guys think? Its great for those who want to bake but don't have the time to make toppers!!! Something to think about :)
Anyways, I made a mix of fondant covered and butter cream cupcakes.  You'll notice that the butter cream and the fondant don't actually match, Its that damn butter with its yellow tint and on top of that I added the vanilla!! I don't like using shortening in my butter creams and the yellow from the butter made my blue into blue/green :(
Has anyone else run into problems when mixing colours? Well I hope you all come visit back on Thursday because I'm going to share a recipe for cake/cookie ballsl!!!

Here are the cupcakes!! Hope you guys like them!
