I know haven't posted anything new but after you hear where I was a couple of weekends ago, you guys will forgive me!!! I attended an amazing workshop brought to us by Chrissie the owner of Icing Inspirations and Too Nice to Slice. She is an amazing cake artist who runs her own store and teaches classes at her studio. Check out her sites for more details on classes and guest celebrity cake artists. The first thing you notice when you walk into the room is how spacious and open it is. The layout of the room is set up so that you have a good view of the "teachers" desk you can interact with everyone very easily without bumping into someone or something! The room is so bright and cheerful that any cake designer would love to work in that environment. :)

I had attended a fun filled weekend that had the Sugar Flower Guru himself, James Rosselle, if you guys don't know him, check him out at Elle Cakes. You might have seen him on the Food network Challenge!!! I was excited to meet him and was not disappointed. He is such a talented and gifted artist, that when we got started he was so easy to talk to and was very down to earth. We all had many questions and he patiently explained to each one of us as he made his rounds. . . . He taught us flowers that he uses himself on his cakes and that's what made it more special. The knowledge and techniques that he shared with us was amazing. I know that all of us had an amazing time over the weekend and will not forget it. I will definitely be taking another class at Icing Inspiration!! Thanks Chrissie for making it a wonderful experiences :) hugs Manni
Here are the flowers I made in Jame's class.
I can't tell you how much trouble the above flower gave me. As you can see, only 1 survived :(
