Ok, seriously these are the easiest and cutest looking "wanna-be-truffles" that can be done in 30mints.
The history of cake balls that I know of originally came from Bakerella. In my opinion this lady is the Queen of Cake Pops. So for the cake pops I'm not even going to attempt to tell you how to make these, all you have to do is go to her website and drool!!! All her recipes and ideas are on her site. I bet a whole lot of you will be making cake pops by the weekend :)
So here is my creation of cake pops! I actually made these for 2 clients who wanted to taste test these :)
For the cookie balls.... You'll need the following:
Oreo Cookies (550g bag)
1 package of 8oz Cream cheese
Chocolate melts or bark ( for the purpose of dipping )
.....use food processor to crush the cookies, add room temp. cream cheese, make round balls and place them on a tray and straight into the refrigerator. Leave it for about 15-30mints and then start dipping!! see how easy!
For the Peanut Butter cookie balls
Pirate Cookies (350g bag) + another 2 rows
1 package of 8oz Cream cheese
Chocolate melts or bark ( for dipping )
....same instructions as the Oreo cookies :)

They look sooo yummy!
ReplyDeletethanks Margo :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Manni, these are beautiful and they look delicious! I was telling my mom about you today..I was saying how I have a friend that makes the most beautiful cakes!!
ReplyDeleteXO
Oh my gosh, they look so inviting. I saw someone showing how to make the cake pops, can't remember where, but I guess I will have to buy them from Starbucks for now, because I am not much of a baker, but they look great. Love your cake/cookies. You can call them whatever you want, they would look delish even without a name!!! Thanks for stopping by, I have been busy setting stuff up so I have not been blogging like normal, but I miss talking to you. Hope to be back at it soon and have all the little things done so I can get back to normal, well as normal as I can be at least. LOL
ReplyDeleteTake Care, Hugs, CindyLew
Yum! Yours are so pretty! I often get requests for these too. So simple, yet rich and seemingly decadent! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Manni Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteNow yours look beautiful. I used the old recipe with the cake and crumbling it with frosting. I would love to try your recipe with the cookies and then add the cream cheese. Now I have a question for you. How do you dip them and make them look so perfect? Now I see no finger prints, are you dipping them holding them with something? Come on now, finish this up for me. I have a birthday coming less than 2 weeks and I would love to make some to take to work and share. I need you help. Email me pleeeezzzzz.
So pretty and you my dear amaze me with your talents. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
I have the same question. How do you get them to be so perfect? (Mine never look like that!) Share your secret please?
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy, Cindy L, Jennifer, Sherry and Carol. You girls are amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteSherry and Carol, to get the coating on smoothly, I found out the hard way. Your chocolate has to be at the right temp. in order for the dipping to happen and I use a fork and spoon. I normally dip it one at a time, which might be time consuming but the result is much better. I also was told to try the Wilton tools which are very easy to use. They have them at Michaels or any bake shop. I hope this helped, if you're still having problems email me :)
Oh! almost forgot. The balls must be cold in order for the chocolate to set up a lot faster!! I normally will put them in the freezer for 30mints or so :)
Manni, these look delicious and so, so pretty! Please send some my way! :)
ReplyDeleteYummy, they look so delicious! I tried making these last month but my chocolate coating just looked horrible!!
ReplyDeleteI'm taking down this recipe! These look to die for! They look awfully dangerous though, thanks for sharing the yummy goodness!
