Wacky Fondant Tutorial

Hi Everyone
Hope you all had a good weekend :)
Sorry haven't been around much last week to comment on all my friends post. I've not been feeling all that great.
I wanted to share  a tutorial that I was working on a couple of weeks back. The idea actually started from my sister in laws birthday cake and then my mind was consumed with so many different ways of doing this technique that I had to share it with you all. Now, I’m not sure if anyone else has tried this, but for me its new!!!
Well here is the tutorial, hope you enjoy it and let me know if you guys have tried this out J

Start with rolled fondant, but don't roll it out too much because you will be rolling it out later. Next cut out your  favourite shapes, colours and add on top of the fondant. I made the mistake of working too slow and in the next picture you will see some of the pieces shifting (due to the fondant drying up). So in order to avoid that, make sure you had some shortening or water ( use very little, dry brush).

Roll out the fondant and stop when you have the desired thickness of the fondant. Use a cookie cutter that is slightly larger than the cupcake make. If you guys haven't seen my tutorial of the covered fondant. Click here Fondant Cupcake Tutorial and you'll have step by step instruction on covering cupcakes with fondant.

Forgot to mention that when you make your cuts try to get whichever design you want to show up on the cupcakes.
Here is the finished cupcakes. Aren't they cute?  I was inspired by quilters so that's why I added the stitching lines. I've been thinking about making my first quilt and have been online searching for ideas :) Does anyone know of any good sites?

Have a great week :)

  18. Hi Manni Sweetie...
Oh my gosh are these ever just the sweetest little things I have ever seen. I may have to try that in June for my grand daughters 14th birthday. Seeing as how it is so close to the 4th I am thinking of red, white and blue, so any ideas from you would be greatly appreciated. We always do a pool party, she loves it. Be thinking my sweet friend, be thinking.

Hope you are feeling a little better each day. It is all of these things blooming right now. We are all having allergy problems here in the desert believe me.

Many hugs to you sweet one. Another fabulous share. You are SO creative. Love, Sherry

  53. The truth is that should you buy your own Plus Size Dresses from the dodgy supply, you're going for a risk. Chances are it will likely be okay, but if you are going to buy the down jackets, a minimum of avoid the greater suspect ways of doing this. You just have no idea what you are getting, and there isn't any catier pendents protection or even recourse for those who have an issue. Be ready for the truth that your replica rolex datejust watches might be average to low quality, and there is not probably being much that you can do about this.

  54. Lovely, thank you - must have a go - by the way what did you use for your stitching lines?
    :)
