The following photos are of the Hello Kitty and My Melody cupcakes that I made for a friend and her daughter who are both such huge fans. I had researched for hours to find a good photo of Melody, which wasn't easy. However I kind of changed her up a bit and she looks cute!! I know that the pink is not the right shade, but at the time I was doing them it seemed ok. Afterwards I realized that it was much to light for My Melody : (
I have to say, that I enjoy covering cupcakes with fondant, its a lot of fun! ( especially once you get the hang of it! )
Ok, I have to keep this really short and sweet. I'm baking right now and testing out a new recipe for a tea party tomorrow!!!

These are adorable! My daughter would love them. So cute that you have My Melody, too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm stopping by via Sweets for a Saturday - I have always wanted to try working with fondant, but it still intimidates me. These Hello Kitty cupcakes are absolutely adorable! I love them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Caroline, this was my first attempt at making fondant covered cupcakes. Its a lot easier than it looks, I find that the best way to do these are to frost and put them in the refrigerator so that the icing hardens up then just roll out fondant and cut with cookie cutter. I actually will be putting up a tutorial on these later on : ) Hope you follow so that you get to see how easy these really are : D
